Ten Houses Built For Kolhapur Flood Victims Handed Over
Ten fully-furnished houses built by Ideal Relief Committee Trust, Maharashtra with the support of Human Welfare Trust, New Delhi were handed over today to the August 2019 Flood victims of Kanwad village in Kolhapur District, Maharashtra.
Mr. Rajendra Patil, State Minister for Health and Medical Education handed over the keys to the beneficiaries in a simple function presided over by Mr. Rizwan-ur-Rehman Khan, State President, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Maharashtra, and Mr. Sanjay Singh Chavan, CEO, Zilla Parishad, Kolhapur District.
The foundation stone for the project was laid on January 26, 2020, after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Ideal Relief Committee Trust and Zilla Parishad Kolhapur on January 20, 2020.
Each shelter built at a cost of Rs 5.5 lakh will benefit thirty-four families, affected by the flood. August’s flooding had broken all past records and erased entire lives in Sangli and Kolhapur. The Ideal Relief Committee Trust had assiduously worked to restore normalcy and repair schools in Kanwad village.
