Vision 2026 Gears Up COVID Response: 50-Bedded Covid Field Hospital comes up in Jamia Nagar, Delhi
A 50-bedded Covid Field Hospital will start functional from today at Jamia Nagar, Delhi established in association with Aster Volunteers, the CSR arm of UAE-based Aster DM Healthcare, and Alshifa Multispeciality Hospital, Jamia Nagar, Delhi under the Human Welfare Trust. The hospital is set up at Scholar School run by Human Welfare Foundation.
The hospital with oxygen support will in the first phase admit 25 asymptomatic patients.
The field hospital is equipped with 100 oxygen cylinders, 10 oxygen concentrators, nebulization facilities, separate wards for positive patients, men and women without symptoms, nursing staff, and regular three-course meals for patients. In addition, 24-hour ambulance service with oxygen facilities is available to transport the critically ill to other Covid hospitals. The Field Hospital will be expanded with more facilities if the necessity arises.
All services at Field Hospital, including treatment and meals, are provided free to all patients. Hotel The Leela Palace New Delhi is sponsoring cooked meals for all patients and staff three times a day. A 30-member medical team consisting of experienced doctors and paramedical staff is working for the smooth functioning of the Field Hospital.
Currently, the 40-bed facility at Alshifa Hospital is reserved exclusively for Covid treatment. ICU and ventilator facilities are available at Alshifa.
